Historic Greeneville, TN - With the seasonal rush already in progress, there’s help available for shoppers looking for irresistable prices and distinctive gifts. James-Ben: Studio and Gallery, Northeast Tennessee’s regional art venue, offers a Christmas oasis of helpful calm to customers seeking reassurance that they’ve found the perfect gift. A package of options awaits visitors to the gallery, located at stoplight #3 on the corner of North Main and Church Streets in Greeneville’s Downtown Historic District. Among these is a “Frain Frenzy” on works from popular local artist Tim Frain, whose pieces satisfy both visually and functionally.

Holiday hoursfor James-Ben: Studio and Gallery, beginning the day after Thanksgiving, are 10 AM to 6 PM Monday through Saturday and from 1:30 to 5 PM on Sundays. This means Christmas Eve opportunities are available to last minute shoppers and those frantically in search of stocking stuffers.

“Folks should make it easier on each other during the holiday season, when stress can often turn what should be a joy into a chore,” says James-Ben Stockton, gallery director. “We provide a 'Santa’s Helper'list for our customers. It’s rather like a bridal registry or wish list; visitors can make a record of their favorite gallery finds in all price ranges and then those who shop for them can choose from that list. It provides both a surprise and a sure-fire hit when the package is opened.” James-Ben: Studio and Gallery, representing the work of Tennessee and regional caliber artists, with many pieces both locally made and with regional ambience, offers perfect gifts for any budget. The “Santa’s Helper” list is available on request for all customers. The gallery also maintains the list throughout the year to relieve the same gift-buying stress for weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, and other special occasions.

Coming up on its 8th Christmas in Greeneville, James-Ben: Studio and Gallery features the work of Tim Frain, whose range of talents has made him a perennial favorite with collectors. Patrons who look forward to great prices on his pottery at holiday time will not be disappointed this year. Frain and the gallery have packaged a “Frain Frenzy" , among other things allowing shoppers to do gift buying for themselves as well as others.  From November 27th until sold out, customers who buy one piece of Frain’s Red Moss, Persimmon, or Tree of Life pottery lines at regular price will receive a 50% credit on as many pieces of the"Frenzy” pottery as they choose. This affords a fine chance for shoppers to add to their own collections as well as introducing friends and family to this marvelous regional artist and his work.

Tim Frain’s high quality, artistry. and gift-giving appeal was recently recognized in the area by the Arts Council of Greater Kingsport,, which selected him to produce their 2005 biennial awards honoring achievement in art leadership, art production, and art patronage. “One of the unique components of the Arts Awards is the commissioning of the award itself,” says Katherine Scoggin, Arts Council President. “We try to support local artists and have commissioned work over the years in various mediums from glass to paper to wood. Our Steering Committee was thrilled to visit James-Ben: Studio and Gallery and find such a variety of high quality art from which to choose. It wasn’t easy! But we are so very pleased with the artist, Tim Frain. His work will surely be well received by the Arts Awards winners.”  “Tim has become one of the backbones of our gallery since our move to Northeast Tennessee,” adds Stockton. “We work to provide a comfortable, welcoming space for customers to buy and view works of art. Representing creative, dedicated, and dependable artists like Tim makes that work very easy indeed.”
